Hello, Alv:
Just to say that Tony Way’s PacCanoe performed flawlessly on our North Knife River trip. Very high water and some interesting situations. Very bad weather—14 days of cold wind-driven rain. We were weather bound for 5 of the 14 days. But the river was awesome and the fishing was superb. We ultimately got stuck in Churchill for four days do to a train derailment.
I was very impressed with the improvements you’ve made to the Pakboat. The locking clips functioned perfectly; the extra reinforcement on the bottom and gunnels is a welcome touch. The new seat frame is much superior to the old version. And the anodized frame is really nice. Your yoke works perfectly. Right now, your boat is light years beyond the competition.
One thing: I think you should keep supplying the pump. You can make the boat much more rigid with it.
Well, we never had to patch the boat—indeed, there was barely a scratch. These PakCanoes have earned my respect. My congratulations on a job well done.
Best,
Cliff Jacobson
